The Horror genre generally always has a threat of death or suffering within it, with an element of gore and violence. Horrors differ from Thrillers as they usually take the suspense one step further to make it into a scary film, e.g. more blood, more violence. Horror's don’t have to follow the rules or boundaries of reality and tend to have weapons that need to be used within close proximity of the victim. Music is one of the main and most important parts of the genre, if there was no music, or it was too upbeat and "Happy" then the film wouldn’t have the same effect. Main factors of horror films include:
- Music
- Weapons
- Dark creepy location/normal average location
- Victims
- Supernatural
- Gore
- Blood
- Violence
