The Romantic comedy genre is typically when a story about romance is presented with elements of comedy, this generally tends to make this genre light-hearted. Often referred to as a "chick flick" genre, this meaning that they are typically targeted at a female audience. Themes that normally run within a Romantic Comedy are:

The fundamental plot of a Romantic Comedy is that a man and woman meet, then there is some kind of obstacle to overcome, then finally in the end ‘love conquers all’, all this made in a comical way.
