Preliminary Task*

In this task we had to film a short sequence (in camera) of a person entering a room, having a conversation with another person and exchanging an item.
Whilst filming this we had to take into account match on action, the 180 degree rule, continuity editing and shot reverse shot. We also had to set up a camera & tripod, put on a battery, put in a DV tape correctly and film a sequence with a variety of shot distances and movements.
From doing this task I’ve learnt a lot about how to construct a good sequence of film, as well as how to use and set up equipment correctly. All the skills I have acquired will be valuable to me when I construct my final film.
I personally usually prefer to work on my own, but I had no problems working within a group. The girls I worked with were lovely and had some good ideas about what sort of scene we should record. We all brought together and combined our ideas to make our composition. At the start of filming we had a couple of problems trying to achieve the right angle to view the walk up the stairs, but eventually we got the footage we wanted.
